the first "problem" seems a to be a feature rather than a bug as it might be the rev limiter!? With 2,8l 3v engines, I think, revs are limited close to 6000.
The second idle issue is a known problem. After a while, the air bypass might get dirty by oil mist, so turn out the bypass screw (right hand side throttle body), clean the tip plus the bypass hole thoroughly and then do a proper idle adjustment from scratch. This usually fixes problems or erratic idle, given that the adjustment overall is close to correct.
